Culture of the school - is it selective or non-selective? When searching for top UK schools you may have a preference. It is always worth testing this assumption to establish if it is indeed a requirement or whether outcomes would be a better measure.

University progressions - which Universities the students go on to study at. This could be measured by placements at subject specific Universities or a more traditional methods such as percentage joining Russell Group, Top 20 or Oxbridge

Ranking of schools in the UK - be careful when looking just at best ranked UK boarding schools, this is just one measure and especially given recent difficulties with examinations -it is far better to take a broader view when shortlisting
